Mad Sparkly: Madonna Swarovski Costumes

The MDNA Tour wardrobe was overseen by long-time stylist and two-time Oscar nominated costume designer Arianne Phillips.  Tony Villanueva, the head dresser for Madonna’s MDNA tour, gives us a backstage look as he discusses the logistics of putting together a show with eight costume changes for Madge, 10-15 changes per the dancers, and featuring over 700 separate pieces of clothing covered with 315,000 Swarovski crystals.  Now that's "Mad Sparkly."

This inviting interior blanketed with white was designed by Gail Plechaty for a family near the Chicago area.  White is timeless, it is forever.  Decorating Tip: When using a white color scheme - it is all about the details.  With a lack of color, the eye will be drawn to texture and any contrast.  Make it count.  Make the pieces important.  Think of icicles, or branches, in winter snow.  Look for distinctive pieces - uniquely lined furniture and frames (the branches) and crystal (the icicles).  Think about the feel and finish of fabrics for each room.  Texture will be very important to the overall feel of a room and will dictate formality or casual style.
