DIY : Refinishing A Brass Lighting Fixture

If you hate your bright brass fixture, here is a DIY for dressing up that tired light fixture.  The fixture featured is a vintage glass paneled foyer light, however this DIY can be used to refinish most light fixtures.  After taking the old fixture down, clean the fixture thoroughly inside and out with vinegar and water or simple soap and water.  Tape off all areas that you do not want to paint.  Primer, paint the fixture with a primer spray paint or use an 'All In One Primer / Paint.'  You will to need to use primer paint to adhere to the metal.  You can find replacement candle sleeves at most hardware or lighting stores.  Re-hang your fixture.  Done. Look at that.  via Make It Love It
