What We're Listening To: Duran Duran Hungry Like The Wolf

Something about summer brings out the 80's in me.  When I think of summer Duran Duran comes to mind.  The multi-platinum album Rio hit shelves in May of 1982 loaded with hot, sultry songs that pulsated summer.  The album's iconic cover art was painted by famous 80's artist Patrick Nagel.  I still listen to this album (on vinyl).  One of my all time favorites, here is Duran Duran with "Hungry Like The Wolf" from the album Rio. 

80's Flashback: Missing Persons Destination Unkown

Long before Lady Gaga was even a twinkle in anyone's eye, back when there were actually videos on MTV there was the amazing Dale Bozzio and the band Missing Persons.  Now, those were the days.   Honestly, I have no idea what this video is about - I don't know if she's being kidnapped? I don't know if she is drunk on fashion?  Maybe she overdosed on AquaNet?  We don't know?!  But rest assured, they are definitely high on the 80's.  Enjoy this blast from the past.  Here's the Missing Persons with "Destination Unknown."

80's Flash Back: Automatic

Before the iPod, iTunes, or even the CD - think back to year 1984, when your boom box sat on the dresser, and you spent all summer trying to make the perfect mix tape - trying to get the perfect recording of that one song from the beginning to end.  You know the one - the one the DJ always talked over - right up to where they started singing!  Aaahhh, that always made me so mad.  Well, this was my perfect song that I spent all summer trying to record.
