Flamboyant Pattern

Florence Broadhurst, the 1960's Australian textile designer, was a flamboyant designer unafraid of pattern or color.  Her influential pattern archives are available now through Signature Prints.

Ossie Clark

Ossie Clark was a major figure in fashion during the swinging sixties and known for his flowing designs.  He inspired many designers - yet no one ever quite matched his skill at draping.  Nor did they have his breath for fashion - his eye for patterns - and pattern making.  Ossie was a stand out.

Interior Design Tips:  Finding a furniture piece that you can use in multiple interior design styles makes that piece more likely to be with you for years to come.  The Gitane sofa by Room is tailor-made for the modern traditionalist, with elegant, sloping arms and tufted upholstery. Handcrafted in Brooklyn, it is 84" l. x 36.5" d. x 34.5" h. and costs $6,865 as shown in a Maharam cotton velvet. The sofa can be custom ordered in any length and is available in a range of fabrics, as well as c.o.m.

Heels to Die For

Well, this isn't the Find of the Week, but I'm still enjoying it.

This is the shoe for the Jezebel on the go.
Jezebel doesn't have time to walk - she's busy.

Can't you just see her - being all fancy.

Jezebel, roll yourself to the Pink Motel
before that back wheel snaps off.

Remember at the skating rink -
"Couples Skate, Couples Skate Only,"
that's when I would go and
get myself a drink and a pickle.

Kate's Lazy Meadow Motel

I know - I just got back from a trip, but my best girlfriend is getting married this year in N.Y. and - I have to plan my trip.

Kate Pierson, of the B-52s, and partner Monica Coleman channeled their love of 1950s design and opened Kate's Lazy Meadow Motel in Mt. Tremper, N.Y.   - I want to go!

The camp ground, which sits on nine shady acres in the Catskill Mountains, features retro motel rooms, rustic cabins, and vintage Airstream trailers decked out with mid-century furnishings, authentic 1950s kitchens, and period Technicolor accessories.  Check it out!  lazymeadow.com
