That's Pretty Cool : Samara Tree House Project

Laurie Adams of E’Terra Eco Resort is working with architect Tye Farrow to create the Samara Project – 12 villas suspended from the treetops offering accommodations in harmony with nature.  The tree house design is inspired by the samara – the winged seeds that flutter down from the trees every spring. The sleeping area of the tree house is located in the “seed’ section, while the open air living area is located in the “wing.” via lifeovereasy

Garden Home Challenge With P. Allen Smith

P. Allen Smith has partnered with eHow and YouTube to document a house building project called the Garden Home Challenge.  The challenge is planning, designing, and building an environmentally friendly designer home for $150,000 in 150 days located on his Moss Mountain Farm in Arkansas.  In this video short, our friend P. Eric Cohler's Cozy Apartment

Interior Design Tips:  A small space doesn't have to be small on style. Designer Eric Cohler, who was featured a while back, opens his cozy Manhattan apartment. 

My last apartment was starkly modern and crisp. This place is in an 1861 row house that's barely 11 feet wide — it was never meant to be grand. I've always lived in very large apartments or houses — I've been spoiled by space. I didn't know how to live in a small space, but now I wouldn't live in a large space ever again. In fact, I hardly use my dining room. People don't need as much space as they think they do. We have too much stuff. Edit, edit, edit! I've started counseling clients, "Smaller is better — but make it more luxurious." Small, luxurious touches make you feel cosseted. ~ Eric Cohler
