Designer Thom Filicia shares his New York Lake House with House Beautiful.  I love his layered look.  It is approachable and looks like a home that has someone living in it.  Thom mentions in his interview with HB that this home is the design that shows off his style the most because he designed the fabrics, furniture, hardware, wallpaper, and art.

Interiors: Bohemian Apartment, New York

This apartment by Incorporated caught my attention.  My personal style is not modern.  I'm much too into stuff and things to ever be that put together; however, color blocking is something that sparks my interest and this bohemian apartment is full of color blocking and pattern.  This New York family apartment is stylish and practical.   Part playground, part office, this modern home is to be admired and appreciated.  Check it out.

Color Trends: Contemporary Color Palette - New York Apartment

This apartment's color palette reminds me of a bowl of fruit still life painting.  The colors are true, bold in contrast, and unapologetic.  Each room has its own color, style, and attitude.  Sometimes by being consistently different you can create uniformity. 

I personally love the avocado green entry and the gray, blue, and green sitting room.  Design Tip:  Wallpapering bookshelves is a simple solution for filling sparse shelves.
