What We're Listening To : Katy Perry - Roar / Lady Gaga - Applause

Both Katy Perry and Lady Gage release new singles.  Katy Perry released "Roar" and Lady Gage released "Applause".  I have a feeling we will be hearing a lot of these songs for a while.  (This is a compliment to both performers.)  Now, I like both songs.  Ask me again in about two years and I will know for sure if I really like them both.

Lady Gaga gets a lot of comparison to Madonna, but does anyone see the comparison to the Missing Persons?

What We're Listening To: Katy Perry - Part Of Me

The self proclaimed "California Gurl" is riding high with both a new concert movie and and new album release.  In her "Part of Me" video, Katy Perry deals with more personal subject matter - maybe inspired by her own personal drama, in the video she plays a scorned girlfriend who rushes to join the military as an act of self empowerment.  Here is Katy Perry with "Part of Me."

Music: Katy Perry "Last Friday Night"

High school parties that got out hand, the first time you wore makeup, the first big crush, and the time you got caught - oh, to be young - Katy Perry gives an ode to John Hughes' Sixteen Candles with her video for "Last Friday Night."  Special cameos by Debbie Gibson, Corey Feldman, Kenny G, Hanson, Darren Criss (Glee), and Rebecca Black (Friday song).  Enjoy.
