How To: Remove Old Paint

Restoring old trim or repainting an old door can be a daunting process.  Decorating Tip:  Use a heat gun to loosen paint from wood.  Metal is more difficult to strip using the heat gun because it doesn't retain heat like wood.  After stripping with heat you can use a chemical stripper to remove access paint, but remember to open windows and use a mask.  Sand before repainting.  Follow these steps and you will have professional results.
