Musk Unveils Hyperloop Travel From L.A. To San Fransisco In 30 Minutes

Travel from L.A. to San Fransisco in 30 minutes, an average travel time of 6 to 8 hour drive.  Travel twice as fast as a plane, cheaper than a train, and self propelled, that is what Elon Musk proposes can be accomplished by the Hyperloop for $10 billion.  This amount sounds like a lot of money until you realize California is already working on a high speed rail system that is budgeted for $68 billion.  Musk unveils his Hyperloop plan in a 57 page PDF that outlines the magnetic and air drive system.  The Hyperloop would send passengers through a low pressure tube at speeds in the range of 700-800 miles per hour, this is in comparison to high speed rail speeds which reach 110-300 miles per hour.  The Hyperloop system could be implemented across the country, running between major cities with a maximum distance of 900 miles.  So, would you want to travel 800 miles per hour?
