Decorating With A Latte Color Palette

The Sherwin Williams paint color Latte SW6108 is crazy popular when it comes to painting interior walls.  Now, let's discuss what colors to use when building a decorating palette around this color staple.  Decorating Tip:  When using a neutral beige it is important to consider the palette and its overall set of hues.  A color's hue refers to the saturation of that color from 'bold in color' to 'dull in color'.  Think of a palette like a compact of eye shadows.  All of the eye shadow colors are of different strengths of color or hue.  The compact is like a palette of coordinating hues that can be a great selection of colors and inspiration.

Another source of inspiration is fashion.  Decor follows fashion.  Fabrics hit the runway first before being vetted and ending up on sofas and windows, so study what is current in color by grabbing your favorite fashion magazine and looking for palette ideas.  The Vogue September Issue is not only an amazing fashion resource but also an invaluable source for decorating inspiration.  Here's an autumn line up that has some great color combinations.

Finally, work with colors you like.  What colors interest you?  Excite you?  Please you?  Always follow your gut, because you know what you like.  Once you are inspired, have fun and enjoy the process of decorating with your color selections.
